Barbers Hill Elementary

Each six weeks, your child will receive two reading test grades based on the Accelerated Reader Program. One will be for comprehension and the other for the number of points earned during the grading period. Please refer to pages 9 and 10 in your child’s handbook for more information on grading policies.

Please have your child read his/her Accelerated Reader book each night for at least 20 minutes. Reading cannot improve if it is not practiced daily. It is a well-known fact that students who read regularly become more creative writers as well. Your help and cooperation are vital to your child becoming an independent reader and writer.
